About Me

Hey there! My name is Zach. I’m a nostalgic gamer in my late 30s that taught high school Biology for 13 years, and recently made a switch to become a licensed mental health counselor. I’m happily married to my wife, Elizabeth, and have two beautiful young daughters, Zoey and Eleanor, who keep us busy!

Video games have been a big part of my life since I was a kid. They’ve been with me through every change life has brought and have helped me through some tough times. They’re some of my happiest memories with family and friends. I think documenting and sharing gaming stories and memories of all types is a wonderful way to connect with fellow gamers, and that’s what I aim to always do with The Chozo Project! (Metroid is one of my favorite series of all time, and the lore left by the Chozo race was a big inspiration for my website name)

Although I enjoy a huge variety of gaming systems and companies, I’m a Nintendo guy at heart. I’ve owned every major Nintendo system since the NES (I even have a Virtual Boy!). Nintendo systems and games of every generation continue to bring me the most happiness, nostalgia, and smiles. I also have a fondness for other consoles from the 90s-what a decade!

My favorite system of all time continues to be the Super Nintendo, but I play A LOT on my Nintendo Switch these days since it’s so versatile!
